2007:: TIME YEAR IN REVIEW

I sat and watched these fire helicopters pump water from a golf course pond to try and save houses in this Santa Clarita subdivision during the October 'Magic' Fire. Everytime the helicopters came down they sprayed water so I'd have to dodge out of the way. The thing that really struck me, there were some cool ducks off to the left of the picture that weren't even phased when these monster helicopters came down, sometimes two at a time.

2007:: DOUBLEtruck

The Magic fire picture has taken on a life of it's own. The fire helicopter pix is my first double doubletruck... In DOUBLEtruck. DOUBLEtruck is an award-winning magazine run by my agent ZUMA Press.

2008: Same-Sex Marriage, Moral Wrong or Civil Right?

A book debating gay marriage used my picture of lebian couple Margot and Alex full page. The picture was part of a series I shot while San Francisco was issuing gay marriage licenses in 2004.

2008:: PRECISION HELIPARTS CATALOG

Precision Heliparts, which sells helicopter parts nationally, wanted my picture for the cover of their 2008 catalog. Looks really cool, the helicopter really pops out of the page.

1/2008:: FIREHOUSE LIFE MAGAZINE

FireHouse Life magazine ran around 15 of my pictures from the SoCal 2007 Fires. All my favorites, the vert helicopter, the Time helicopter, but many more that haven't been published yet.

See all of the pages here.

2/18/2008:: TIME MAGAZINE

I believe very strongly in Hillary Clinton's run for President. I like both candidates, but feel she is more substance, exactly like the article debates. I have seen both in person, and am convinced she is completely authentic. My picture is Hillarys face in the cutout image, with her books.

2/1/2008:: PEOPLE.COM

Portrait of Presidential Candidate Barack Obama made People.com. I shot him in Los Angeles at a backyard roundtable in January.

12/1/2007:: COLA Award Finalist

A shoot I did commercially in Lake Tahoe for 'The Weather Channel' made the production company a finalist in the 'California on Location Awards' in two catagories for my still pictures. I was up against Vanity Fair and Vogue.

12/2007:: VERTICAL MAGAZINE

From the southern California Fires. Vertical Magazine, the authority on helicopters, published my picture of a helicopter flying dangerously over huge flames in the Witch fire near Lake Hodges, in San Diego.

11/5/2007:: NEWSWEEK

From the southern California Fires. My first fire, the Canyon Country near Santa Clarita. I stood on Sierra Highway, watching the fires come over the ridge, down the mountain and burn across the street. Frighting. A guy had to anchor me so I wouldn't fly away because the Santa Ana winds were so strong.

10/24/2007:: THE LONDON PAPER

Another frame from the Canyon Country fires. It's my first front of a newspaper, and I was happy to see an overseas tearsheet.

11/12/2007:: TIME MAGAZINE

A red carpet picture of Miley Cyrus made Time Magazine. I like the quote.

03/2007:: YES! MAGAZINE

My first cover! I took the picture during May 2006 'Day Without an Immigrant' march in Los Angeles. This girl was a Mexican eagerly waiting to march for her rights.

03/2007:: HOLLYWOOD ESCAPES

My first pix on a book cover. It's a book about exploring Socal following in the tracks of popular movies. I took the picture at a vineyard down in Santa Barbara.

03/2007:: GOURMET MAGAZINE

A picture of the beautiful rolling vineyards of Dry Creek vineyards in Sonoma was published full page in Gourmet Magazine.

03/2007:: ROLLING STONE

It's always an honor to be in one of the coolest magazines in America, Rolling Stone. It's even better when it's a good cause. A picture from a musician performing at the 2006 immigrant marches ran. My feet still hurt from marching those 5 miles.

11/2006:: US WEEKLY

Designer Dina Bar-El a walk down the catwalk with American Idol Katharine McPhee during Los Angeles 2007 Spr/Sum Fashion Week.

10/2006:: NEWS PHOTOGRAPHER

The photography community lost a legend when photographer Joe Rosenthal died. He was the man behind the famous WWII Flag picture. At his San Francisco memorial, I photographed his family, and other Pulitzer Prize winning photographers.

08/2006:: SO SCOTTSDALE

In a great full page spread, 'So Scottsdale' magazine ran a picture from Runway Bebe that I took at LA Fall/Winter Fashion Week. They also ran two other of my pictures on an opposite page. Fashion is a new interest of mine, it's a really intense and celebrity rich experience.

06/01/06:: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS

For this one, I swam from Alcatraz, an annual event for me. The dog was the first ever animal (besides the sharks) to swim the mile and a half. I teamed up with another ZUMA photog who luckily shot from a boat. I however, swam for 45 minutes or so in freezing water without a wetsuit in pursuit of the dog. The dog beat me.

04/01/06:: VANITY FAIR

Those of you who know me, know that my relationship with Apple goes way back. I used to have a Macintosh Consulting firm back in the dot-com day. So imagine my surprise, getting published in my FAVORITE mag Vanity Fair, with a photo of Steve Jobs himself.

01/01/06:: COASTAL LIVING

I did a fun feature on the 'LA Surf Bus', a bus that picks up inner city LA kids and takes them to the beach to teach them to surf. The brainchild of amazing surfer Mary Setterholm. http://www.lasurfbus.org/

05/20/05:: NPPA (News Photographers)

While on a trip to Vietnam with famous photographer Nick Ut, for the 30th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, I shot this portrait of legendary photographer Horst Faas. He was hospitalized with heart problems days later and is now paralyzed.

10/30/04::HI MAGAZINE

Snoop Dogg and his band 213 had their first performance ever at a Rock the Vote 2004 event. A Middle Eastern magazine funded by the US State Dept ran my photo over 2 pages, called a Doubletruck. My first!

06/18/04:: 2005 PEACE CALENDAR

Syracuse Publishing Company chose my image of the 2004 Women's March on Washington for their 2005 Calendar. The calendar champions peace and equality issues. My picture was April.
